Terms of service.

Agreement

These terms govern your use of Lar, operated by Lar Opco Ltd (company number SC886054, registered in Scotland). By using Lar or subscribing to updates, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Lar is a portfolio management platform for property landlords. It provides compliance tracking, mortgage tracking, portfolio reporting and related tools. Features may change as the service develops.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 18 to use Lar. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Subscriptions and billing

Lar is a paid subscription, listed on the pricing page. Prices are in Pounds Sterling. The price shown is the total payable.

• Creating an account is free. Every plan is free for its first 7 days after you choose it; a valid payment method is taken at that point and nothing is charged before day 8.
• If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your plan renews at the billing cycle you chose, monthly or annual.
• Annual subscriptions are billed upfront for the full year.
• You can move up or down a plan at any time; changes take effect at your next billing date.
• We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial periods.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe’s terms of service.

Your data

You own your data. Lar claims no intellectual property rights over the information you enter. You can export it at any time with the built-in tools. If you close your account, we delete your data within 30 days unless the law requires us to keep it. The privacy policy explains how we collect, use and protect it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Lar for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or our systems
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the service
• Resell or redistribute the service without our written consent
• Upload malicious code or interfere with the operation of the service

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

Accountant access

Lar lets you grant scoped, read-only access to accountants and advisers. You are responsible for managing who has access. Accountant seats are free, as described on the pricing page.

Availability and support

We aim to keep Lar available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service; we may perform maintenance or experience outages. Support is by email at hello@uselar.com. Response times depend on your plan.

Limitation of liability

Lar is a tool to help you manage your property portfolio. It is not a substitute for professional legal, financial or tax advice. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• Lar is provided as is, without warranty of any kind
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service
• Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Compliance information

Lar’s compliance tools are based on our understanding of Scottish and UK property regulation. We make reasonable efforts to keep them accurate and current but do not guarantee they are complete or error-free. You are responsible for verifying requirements with the relevant authorities and taking professional advice where appropriate.

Intellectual property

Lar, including its design, code and content, is owned by Lar Opco Ltd. You may not copy, modify or distribute any part of the service without our written consent. The Lar name, logo and brand are trademarks of Lar Opco Ltd.

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from your account settings. When you cancel:

• You keep access until the end of the current billing period
• Your data stays available for export for 30 days after cancellation
• After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted

We may also terminate your account if you breach these terms, with reasonable notice where possible.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time and will notify you of material changes by email or a notice on the website at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date is acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. Disputes arising from them or your use of Lar are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
